Following the Sitara stereotype for booting from other memory interfaces, the ROM may switch to a backup NAND boot image at another offset address or directly fall back to boot from a different Sitara backup-boot interface (UART, SDCard, etc.) also known as a backup boot mode.

Allow me some time to internally confirm with our NAND boot expert on what ROM actually does in case the primary boot from NAND memory at offset 0x0 fails - in particular because of bad blocks in this location.

Hi Anastas, 

Yes, OOB contains specific markers (often the first or last few bytes of the OOB) to flag abad block, readable by the MPU.
