CCSTUDIO: Error loading managed make project information

I just installed Code Composer Studio (Version: 4.2.4.00033) on a Windows 7 PC. It worked not perfectly (Adobe Flash player no more available), but the installation was complete, I htink. My goal was to work on a very old project (my old Windows XP PC just crashes). I could import a copy of my project, but then a I got the message:
error loading managed make project information.

I found another discussion about this error:

So possibly I do not have the right version of CCS for my project.

I have found following references:

In .ccsproject <codegenToolVersion value="4.3.2"/>
In .cdtbuild <tool id="com.ti.ccstudio.buildDefinitions.C5500_4.4.exe.compilerDebug.1528381838./
but also "com.ti.ccstudio.buildDefinitions.C5500_4.3.compilerID.

Note that the CCStudio I just installed shows also

RTSC/XDCtools 3.22.01.21
"CCE Product Branding" Version: 4.0.0.201106061600

Can you provide the three .*project files and the .cdtbuild file that resides in your project folder? Please zip and attach to this thread.

Thanks. Your project has a dependency on another project "ezdsp5502bsl". Is that project also in the same directory as this one (I believe CCS will try to import this one also at the same time if it can find it).

Unfortunately the project "ezdsp5502bsl" is not available. It might be an example project from which we have started. By the way, I did not find any example project. We have a kit TMS320C5502 eZdsp USB Stick, and I think we have started from this kit, long ago. I would be already happy to compile an example project for this kit.

I have found the root issue. One of the build configurations have a dependency on compiler version v4.4.1 ("ReleaseD 441"). CCS 4.2.x comes with compiler version 4.3.x.

You can download v4.4.1 from: https://software-dl.ti.com/codegen/non-esd/downloads/download_archive.htm#C5500

When I installed it and then had CCS discover it, I was able to successfully import the project.

Thank you @Ki, the issue is solved! I still have to add some missing source files to manage to compile, but it is another question.
