Part Number: DRA821U-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA821
Hello TI Team,
We are developing a custom board based on the DRA821 and would like to confirm whether USXGMII and RGMII3 can be used simultaneously.
Our intended hardware configuration is as follows:
- We are not using CPSW5G switch mode.
- We intend to use Native Ethernet (MAC mode).
- USXGMII is connected to an external 10G Ethernet switch.
- RGMII3 is connected to an external 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet PHY.
- Both Ethernet interfaces are required to operate simultaneously.
Our questions are:
- Does the DRA821 support simultaneous operation of USXGMII and RGMII3 when using Native Ethernet (without CPSW5G switch mode)?
- Are there any hardware limitations or resource conflicts (SerDes, MAC ports, clocks, or pin multiplexing) that would prevent this configuration?
- Are there any software limitations in the Processor SDK Linux for this configuration?
- Is any additional configuration required in the Device Tree or Linux driver to enable simultaneous operation of these two interfaces?
- Are there any reference designs or example Device Tree configurations demonstrating this use case?
We would appreciate your guidance on whether this configuration is supported and if there are any considerations we should be aware of.
Best regards.
