Adding OMX VLPB component in EZSDK 5.03

Hi TI experts,

I have worked with the OMX chain capture->dei->vlpb->display in EZSDK ver 5.02, now i am miggrating to EZSDK ver 5.03.
In order to get the OMX chain of capture->dei->vlpb->display in EZSDK ver 5.02, i received a massive help from Archith John Bency as seen here:

I have received from Archith John Bency an object file called omxbase_cfg.oe674 that with out it i couldn't use the OMX chain capture->dei->vlpb->display.
Can anyone from TI send me similar object file for EZSDK ver 5.03?

Are you not able to use the modified omxbase_cfg object file that Archith gave you with 5.03? Does it not link with 5.03 binaries?

Hi Anirban,

The object file Archith had sent me is linked with 5.03 binaries, but we have compared the original object files from the versions 5.02 and 5.03 and they were not the same, thus we are concerned that there are some changes that need to be in that object file in the new versions and are missing in the old version object.
Can you please recompile that object for the 5.03 version. It would be very helpful for us. I know that many TI users used that object file in the previous version many of them contacted me to ask questions about it. I am sure many will use that object in the new version.

Gabi,

I can confirm that the C file omxbase_cfg.c from which the object file omxbase_cfg.oe674 is generated has not changed between these 2 versions. Therefore it is safe to use the modified 5.02 object file with 5.03.

As a long term solutoin, we are working towards making the DSP firmware allocate buffers from SharedRegion2 by default for the next EZSDK release (5.04). I will keep you posted about that

Hello Aniban,

Two questions:

1. Do you have an estimation when will ezsdk 5.04 will be released?

2. Is there any chance to get the sources of the OMX components (omx base + components that run on the M3)? This would be very helpfull in several aspects: to debug the applications, to have full control of memory settings, to compile these sources with different optimization flags and so on.

EZSDK 5.04 should be available by the end of the month (April 30). You can sign an NDA and get access to the full source code. You would need to work with your local TI FAE for signing the NDA
