C6678 OpenCV

Hi, I have a question about the use of the OpenCV in the Multiple Core DSP.

I have used the EMCV(an Embedded version of OpenCV) in the DM648, though the performance is not efficient.

Now, I want to use the OpenCV library in the C66x DSP, what should I do first? Add the OpenCV lib into the project or others?

We have done some work on a machine vision demo that uses the C6678 and some of the OpenCV functions. I'm not sure if all the functions have been ported to C66x, or just the few we needed for the demo. I'll have some others respond here regarding this. The demo is planned to be released by mid-August.

As an alternative to OpenCV, you may consider TI's VLIB as well. See the following thread which contains a link for requesting VLIB...

Which OpenCV modules you plan to use ? As Travis mentioned - we are using OpenCV 's CV and CXCORE modules only.

We built these OpenCV 1.0 libraries, using TI's CGTOOLS, which is bundled in CCSv5 IDE. The library is built in EABI ELF format. Only compiler generated optimizations were applied. These libs were not optimized for the C66x DSP architecture. VLIB libraries are optimized for TI architecture.

We can share the steps to build OpenCV library on C66x platform, for your to evaluate.

I just want to try use the OpenCV's lib for test, compare the performance between PC and DSP. If you have using the lib, could you give me a example for my next step.

For more, I have request for the VLIB libraries for C66x, however it did't reply me. Could you send me a version of VLIB for C66x.

Is this demo for C66 you talk about now ready? I would like to run it on a 6678 target. Any other demos using SYS/BIOS would also be fine. I did find some code for demos on 6748 that are included with the sdk on http://www.ti.com/tool/biossw-c6748 Anything in the same line for 6678 would be ideal.

hello hou, hello experts,

We have implemented a OpenCV library on C6678 platform, and this porting is based on OpenCV2.4.5 release, which is much newer than EMCV release. Most of the original framework on which OpenCV is build is maintained on our porting. Handly optimization is also done on some module. Although this project is based on C++, handly optimization is also possiable, and can receive almost as much efficient as have been done with pure C project.

The performance may be less than newest 8 core PC workstation, but take power into consideration, DSP is much more efficient than PC workstation, so, this work may be useful on embedded application such as Advanced Driver Assistant System.

I have been trying to use the opencv algorithm in dsp c6400,and I have wasted much time in this trobule because there is no one can give me a hand .

I have downloaded this demo ,and found that there have cv.lib and cxcore.lib . I assumed these lib would be complide by dsp complier,so it can be use as a static library.

but when link the lib ,it remind that can not find the function symbol;
