Hi,

I'm using AM3352.
I find that the AM3352's MMC ports comply with MMC4.3, which is described in datasheet.
However, I want to use MMC complied with MMC4.5.
Is it possible?

If the differences between MMC4.3 and MMC4.5 are only software (device drivers),
I think that AM3352's MMC ports can comply with MMC4.3.
However, if the modifications of hardware are needed, it is impossible, I think.
I'm sorry, but I don't know the differences between MMC4.3 and MMC4.5.

Hi Yusuke,

There is some info on this issue:

"It’s 95% guaranteed that it’ll work but not 100% guaranteed. The only issue could be that the processor might stop working if expected value of extCSD register content byte 192 = 0x05/0x03 (441/4.3) and actual value is 0x06 (eMMC 4.5). EXT_CSD_REV [192] defines the fixed parameters related to the EXT_CSD, according to its revision" .

So its a question of checking if the driver in use will check this register.

By the way, does the driver in Linux SDK released from TI (v05.06.00) comply with MMC v4.5?
