DDR3 Hardware issue

Hi Tom,
I want to have certain clarification regarding the harware section. In the EVM DSP0_DDR3_ECKP_0 and DSP0_DDR3_ECKN_0 signal are connected to a Resistor R37 & R39 of 39.2 ohm and a capacitor C31 of 0.1uF. The Resistor and Capacitor are mounted near the DDR3 SDRAM Chip Section.

I have also attached the Refernce Schematic I am refering. Refer Page Number - 13.

1385.TMDXEVM6.PDF

For Example, If the DDR3 Chips are mounted on TOP of the Board and the R37,R38 & C31 are mounted at the bottom of the board.
1. There can be any issue?
2. What sort of issue will it cause?

The Resistor and Capacitor Should mount near the DDR3 Chip Section.

  • Avinash,

If you follow the rules in the DDR3 Design Requirements application note, you will have a successful design.

It may help if you tell us which EVM or DSP device you are using. But in any case, the relevant DDR3 Design Requirements document will have all the guidelines you need to follow.
