How to use DM8148 Camera Interface

Hi,

We want to use DM8148 to interface a monochrome CCD with 2 channel output (16 bits/per channel). The DM8148 data sheets mention the device has a camera interface but DM814x HDVPSS User's Guide doesn't say anything about the camera interface. We are not using TI's SDK and we want to access the registers directly. So we have several questions;

1) How can we use DM8148 camera interface? Where can we get the user's guide or application notes on the camera interface?

2) It seems DM8148 has only one 16-bit camera interface. Is it possible to interface 2 16-bit CCD outputs?

3) If we can't use DM8148 to interface 2 16-bit CCD outputs what other similar devices can we use? Will DM8168 work for us?

Hi Xu,

Here are the answers to your questions

1, Camera interface and HDVPSS input interface are different. HDVPSS is capturing data in YUV/RGB format, but not for RAW data capture, although you could use it but there is no module to convert into YUV. Please contact your local TI FAE to get more information on HDVPSS and camera interface.

2, Yes, it has only single parallel interface in camera module, but you could hdvpss to capture other sensor output.

3, dm8168 does not have camera interface, but you could use hdvpss to capture from two sensors.
