I ran across this article http://elinux.org/BeagleBone_and_the_3.8_Kernel where you can read

"To help in the transition a full set of peripheral drivers and their pinmux settings will be introduced shortly."

Does anybody know if this is underway? Would be great to have this output generated. Even cooler in combination with a netlist export from Altium to get additional meta-data from the schematics.

Thanks. Some obvious improvements would be to use the macros instead of the raw values and to sort the output by peripherals.

Another nice feature would be to add some additional meta-data to the /* comment */ like pin-number

If you haven't seen it already, alot of nice data exists in the PinMuxDeviceData_AM335x Rev 2.x_v2.0.0.11.csv located in the pinmux folder. (example attached)3173.pin-info-example.pdf

I've also been planning on combining this with Altium (or any netlist format) to get sorting & categorization of the pins on a more structural level from the schematic perspective.

With the pinmux.csv raw-data + the output.dat we could actually apply symbol pin-properties incl. electrical parameters which would be super convenient.

Any news here? 

I'd like to get in contact with the person / team building the pinmux util. Woudl be amazing if we could see this work under linux and also work out the DTS bits.
