Questions regarding the emulation header implementation on the TMDSEVM6657 evaluation card.
Appendix B in the reference manual gives a recommended implementation in figure 27 for buffering of the TCK. The evaluation card implements this with the addition of extra termination, (R896, C555, R67 & R292).
We were wondering what was the reasoning for this extra termination? Should we be following this or the recommendation in appendix B? I am particularly intrigued as to why this is placed prior to R292. Thank you in advance.
Hi,
You will notice that the filter circuit that you referenced (R896, C555, R67) is repeated just before the buffers U268 and U269. This was an error made by the contractor that designed the board. Only the filter next to the buffers should be present in the design. Also note that R1119 should be 4.7K ohms. This is the appropriate pull-up resistor value for a 1.8V JTAG interface.
