From where I get AM335x missing files in Ti-sdk-am335x-evm-07.00 ??

Hello friends,

I am working on TI Am335x GP EVM board. I am new to all this platform. I am Facing problem in board bring up.

With Development Kit I got SDKv5.3 on SD card but using that also I am getting problem. So I download

SDKv7.0 but again facing same problem .

In SDKv7

Inside arch/arm/configs " am335x_evm_defconfig" file is missing. How to configure kernel without it ??

Inside arch/arm/ mach-omap2 "am335x_board.c" file is missing. I want to make changes inside this file

as suggested by e2e members. but this file is also missing.

Hi Vishal,

SDK version 7 is based on kernel 3.12 and uses device trees instead of board files. If you are not familiar with the device tree concept, then I suggest you download the previous version of the SDK (version 06.00.00.00) which is based on kernel 3.2 and uses board files to configure your system.

The kernel defconfig file for the am335x has been renamed to "arch/arm/configs/tisdk_am335x-evm_defconfig" in the latest SDK (version 7).

Hello Miroslav,

I am also trying with older version SDKv5.03.03 which I got with Development kit. But not able to resolve

the problem. So I want to try with SDKv7 only. Can you Please guide me from where I get idea of device tree

concept. Any wiki page or any document.

SDK 5.03.03 is very old and no longer supported.

SDK version 06.00.00.00 is the last SDK based on kernel 3.2 and SDK version 07.00.00.00 is the latest SDK, but it is based on kernel 3.12 and it uses device trees. Because of the big differences between these two versions of the Linux kernel, SDK 06.00.00.00 will continue to be supported in the near future alongside with SDK version 07.00.00.00.
