Hi,

I am planning to develop a board using AM437x and I will use 5MP e-CAM52_5640_MOD camera module. Now I have few doubts on interfacing the camera with AM437x,

I am planning to choose BT.656 (10 bit) mode. This requires DATA[9:0] and PCLK and doesn't require HD, VD, WEN, FIELD, DATA[11:10]. Is my understanding right?
Is there any difference between BT656 and CCIR656 modes?
Can you suggest me any other 5MP camera module/vendor to interface with AM437x for back-up option?

Hi Arondimal,

Here is what I can answer of your questions:
1. Yes, the data format of BT656 consists of eight to ten data bits and a separate synchronous clock. For detailed description of BT656 check: www.itu.int/.../R-REC-BT.656-5-200712-I!!PDF-E.pdf
2. My understanding is that essentially they are the same.

Point #1 and #2 : are clear for me now.
Point #3 : I need a 5MP camera to be interfaced with AM437x. But TIDEP0014 has a 2MP camera sensor/module. I can see lots of 5MP camera module with MIPI interface, but if I go with parallel interface, very limited camera modules are available. Do you have any suggestion for me in this regard? I would need a flexible camera module such as e-CAM52_5640_MOD.
