Hi !
We have not had any luck booting our custom board based on AM3359 processor from the eMMC Boot0/Boot1 hardware partitions. I have followed all the instructions from Micron's eMMC and JEDEC4.41 documents but still not able to boot from the eMMC's Boot area.
i have configured the eMMC extcsd PARTITION_CONFIG register (0x179) to 0x49 setting the PARTITION_ACCESS to R/W boot partition1 and BOOT_PARTITION_ENABLE to Boot from boot partition1 but everytime out of reset it looks like the TI ROM code tries to access the User partition instead of reading the BOOT_PARTITION_ENABLE bit as shown in the below diagram.
is there something more we need to do to expose the Boot0/Boot1 partitions ?
Since we do not have access to TI's Am335x ROM code, can someone from TI please confirm the behavior of the ROM code in communicating with eMMC host controller and accessing the boot areas.
Thanks,
Harsha
The am335x ROM does not use eMMC boot mode, it only supports booting from the user partition.
