How to use DMTimer to count the input pulse on AM3352?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352Hi team, Is there any way to count the input pulse by using DMTimer in our AM3352? Or any other suggestion? Thanks!
  • Hi Jason,

Yes, the DMTimer can be clocked from the TCLKIN pin. See section 20.1.2.2 in the AM335X TRM Rev. L.

  • HI Biser,

Thanks for your help. Yes, I have also suggested the customer to use TCLKIN as the input for the signal they wanted to measure. But according to the customer, the input signal is not the same as the general clock. The pulse may come every minute. But after a while, it may come every hour. I mean the cycle of the input signal may change. Is this OK for DMTimer to work properly? Thanks!
  • According to Table 7-3 from the AM335X Datasheet Rev. G there is a minimum timing (i.e. maximum frequency) requirement for TCLKIN signal. There is no maximum timing (i.e. minimum frequency) requirement.
