Hi,

Could someone tell me the performance differences between float points and fix points on my platform in

regard to add, minus, multiply and divide.

My Platform Info. listed as below:

My platform info: TMS320DM8148 (Vision-Mid)

600-MHz ARM® Cortex™-A8 RISC MPU

500-MHz C674x™ VLIW DSP

200-MHz M3-ISS/M3-HDVPSS

Hi Joey,

We do not have any TI-RTOS benchmarks comparing floating and fixed point math operation performance on DM8148. Someone on the device forum (C6000 Multicore DSP or DaVinci Processor) may have knowledge about such benchmarks and can help you better. I will get this post moved to the device forum.

In the meantime, you can look at these benchmark numbers for C674x. They include benchmarks for vector operations which you may find interesting:

What is the best way in my TMS320DM8148 (Vision-Mid) platform to covert single precision float to integer, yet keeps the sign and unsigned bit status?
