AM437x EtherNet/IP from ISDK 02.01.00.01

Hi,

Regarding the ISDK Example EtherNet/IP provided in latest ISDK(02.01.00.01),
the user guide(wiki) mentions,
"This example is a limited demo application that is constrained so that a user will be
allowed to execute it for one hour only"

Does it mean we cannot run this demo more than 1 hour? please let me know the details of this restriction.

Meanwhile we would like to use this EtherNet/IP sample application to test a
standard TCP/IP ethernet application on AM437x IDK.
We successfully tested standard TCP/IP before with AM335x IDK + older ISDK version with the
help of below E2E guidance.

We would like to know if we can do the same test(standard TCP/IP) on AM437x IDK board?
like commenting out the EIP specific calls (like GetAssignedIP(); EIPMain();)..

Kummi,

Are you using CPSW or ICSS to run the Ethernet application ?

The EIP Application in 1.1.0.x code base and 2.1.0.1 code base are same except that the CPSW mode application is not supported in the later.

Hi Prajith,

Thank you for the quick reply.

We are trying to use the Ethernet application on the ICSS,
as we want to try the Ethernet over EtherCAT application on AM437x's PRU.

Regarding the "one hour" restriction can I assume there is no such restriction
to use the Ethernet/IP example as standard TCP/IP.

Kummi,

The one hour restriction is coming from Ethernet/IP stack. So the TCP/IP application will work fine
