Hi,
I see that my PC with Ubuntu 12.04 OS has "Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version k3.11.0-26-generic" as it's ALSA Version and "version 1.0.25" as it's ALSA Library version. I use Vayu EVM J6 board booted using GLSDK 7.03, which has it's ALSA Library version as "version 1.0.27". I find difficulties in playing audio in both PLAYBACK and CAPTURE cases. Getting the period size after setting, always returns ZERO, irrespective of the Period Size that is set.
1. Are there any ways to upgrade the ALSA Version in my PC?? (from 1.0.25 to 1.0.27)
2. Does ALSA has dependency on ARM Architecture? (When GLSDK 6.04 works fine in the same J6 Board, Why not GLSDK 7.03?)
3. How to find out the period size to make GLSDK 7.03 booted up Vayu EVM J6 to work good for ALSA?
4. Will the different version of ALSA Libraries in two devices, result in loss of Synchronization? (I use PC- J6 combination to implement gPTP Synchronization. i.e., Master and Slave)
Kindly help me out with these.
Thanks,
Shylesh S.
