Using SmartRF Flash Programmre 2 with XDS110 to program CC2640

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2640

Hi,

I recently obtained the XDS110 (TI Simplelink SensorTag DevPack) to program my CC2640 device, based on our internal design.  I have both IAR 7.40.2 and Code Composer v6.1.3 installed on my Windows 7 system.

When I plug in the USB end into my Windows system, Windows is not able to recognize the XDS110 board as shown below:

Is this to be expected?  I was under the impression that the installation of Code Composer would automatically install drivers for the XDS110.

Your help is appreciated.

Regards,
KK

  • Hi KK,

This is not really a TI-RTOS question but I think I might know what happened.

When you install CCS, it does not install all emulation drivers.  You have to pick and choose (or manually choose "select all").

I have run into this issue before albeit with a different driver missing.  You should try to re-run the CCS set up and go through all of the steps of the install (it shouldn't re-install because you already have it installed).  But in this second run of the set up, be sure to select all the emulation drivers you want in that step.  They should then install when you click finish in the set up.

  • Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your response.

My apologies for posting it in TI-RTOS.  I will file a fresh request in the right forum.

But, while I'm here.  I tried reinstalling the emulation drivers again but I still see the same problem.  The Windows system has a problem with the driver for the XDS110.

  • KK,

You sure are unlucky with the XDS drivers on your machine :)

Did you run the XDS emulation installer with Administrator privileges?
