Hi.

I need to know if there is any way to change the contents of L2 ROM? My system size and bom cost requires no external permanent storage peripherals except an SD card, so AISGEN is not helping me :).

What I need is a tiny bootloader to load a secondary bootloader of fixed size residing in ROM. Tiny bootloader will not have any peripheral & system setting capability, it will only load the secondary bootloader to DSP RAM and let it go. The secondary bootloader will have emac capability for external access and L2 ROM write capability for changing the contents if requested, but mostly it will load contents of main program from L2 ROM and jump to that.

Is this achievable, feasible, and is there any support/document for this purpose ? I believe I have seen a forum topic to initial setting /recovery of L2 ROM, but I can not find it now.

The L2 ROM contents are fixed as part of the chip design and cannot be altered in any way.

The DSP L2 ROM contents are all IDLEs on my board.Does this mean my OMAP-L138 chip has been damaged and cannot be booted anymore?

It looks like Mariana is already posted a response on that post. Please follow the instructions there to setup your emulator correctly. One other thing that you need to remember is that OMAPL138 is a ARM boot device so in emulation mode, you should first connect to the ARM and then wake up the DSP and then connect to the DSP. as has been described here:

Hi Mariana,

Thanks a million for your response.But actually, my CCS and emulator work well with another same board.And The power and clock and reset signals are correct. And I've tried all the suggestions mentioned in the forum.However,my problem still exists.

So do you think I need to change another OMAP-L138 chip?
