AM335x safety certification

Good Morning!

I had a question about the Sitara™ AM335x Processors.

Are these safety certified to any standard from a hardware perspective?

Thanks,

Neil

PS:  I apologize in advance if I have asked this question in the wrong forum.

  • Hi Neil,
My gut feeling is no. Here is another post that asks the similar question. e2e.ti.com/.../217695

In any case, I will need to move your post to the processor forum where your question will be best handled.
  • For a list of Processors that meets safety requirements, please check here:

  • No, AM335x devices are not safety certified. There is no device in the Sitara and DSP family of devices that has under gone safety certification.
We have several MCU devices that are ISO26262 (auto safety certification) and IEC61508 (industrial cerified).

Customers who need functional safety certification will need to get the product certified themselves based on their end product requirements. We have lot of SafeTI partners who can provide assistance to get the product certified with required SIL ratings.

Also, note TI RTOS and Linux software is also not safety certified so it is recommended that customer develops their own code with safety requirements using the bare-metal CSL code that we provide for these devices.

    Rahul
