Hi,

We have to design a new video application board, the requirements of the board is to capture 4 DVI channels of resolution 1024x768@50hz, 2 PAL channels 625lines, 2 Audio, 3 RS422 and 2 Mil1553.

the captured video to be stored in less memory device and replay when required. Replay of video out should be in resolution 1024x768@50hz for either DVI or PAL input.

so, we need a advice from video processors experts to suggest the suitable IC to meet my requirement.

Hi Satya,

DM816x device can capture two simultaneous ( up to HD resolution, 1920x1080@60) video channels. See the below e2e thread for more info regarding video capture capabilities:

Hi Pavel,

we want to go for sitara AM5728 does it can replaceable to DM816x, since our design is to support for next 20yrs.

hope you provide the comparison details of DM8168 and AM5728.

Hi Satya,

Yes, AM572x is newer and has mainline linux kernel support.

You can compare documentation (TRM, datasheet) for differences between DM8168 and AM5728.
