AM3359: MDIO for Ethernet/IP

Hi, Everyone

I have a question about ICEv2 board of AM335x.

ICev2 board connect both MDIO_DATA and PR1_MDIO_DATA.
(same as MDIO_CLK and PR1_MDIO_MDCLK)

My cusomer is planning Ethernet/IP for AM335x.

I think MDIO_DATA and MDIO_CLK is not needed for Ethernet/IP

This understanding is correct?

Hi,

If the Ethernet PHYs are connected to the PRU subsystem MII, then the PRU MDIO must be used to control the PHYs.

By PRU_MDIO I mean the signals pr1_mdio_data and pr1_mdio_mdclk

ICEv2 board is below:

PR1_MDIO_MDCLK and MDIO_CLK are connected.
and PR1_MDIO_DATA and MDIO_DATA are connected too.

Are MDIO_DATA and MDIO_CLK necessary for ISDK Ethernet/IP?
I think customer can remove MDIO_DATA and MDIO_CLK.
This understanding is correct ?
