TMS320C5515: LDOI pins on C5515

Genius 13655 points
Part Number: TMS320C5515

Hello Champs,

Customer provided 1.8v to two LDOI pins and 3.3v to the other LDOI pin by mistake. He found the two 1.8v became 3.3v, are the 3 LDOI pins internally connected? He does not want to change the PCB board. Can he use below two methods ?

1. Remove the two 1.8v LDOI pin balls, only provide 3.3v to the other LDOI (if they are internally connected)

2. Remove the 3.3v LDOI  pin ball, only provide 1.8v to the other two LDOI (if they are internally connected)

Thanks.

  • Hi Shine,

No, I didn't find any indication that the LDOI pins are internally connected.

See the description in TMS320C5515 datasheet:
    " 3.2.1.1 LDO Inputs
The LDOI pins (B12, F13, F14) provide power to the internal Analog LDO, DSP LDO, USB LDO, the bandgap reference generator, and some I/O input pins, and can range from 1.8 V to 3.6 V. The bandgap provides accurate voltage and current references to the POR, LDOs, PLL, and SAR; therefore, for proper device operation, power must always be applied to the LDOI pins even if the LDO outputs are not used."

They MUST power all LDOI pins with 1.8V to 3.6V.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
