Linux: Building dra7xx-evm boot image using Yocto for TDA2x

Hi ,

I tried building the image for dra7xx-evm machine using yocto.

I could successfully build the images ie MLO,u-boot,zImage and rootfs.

I copied it to the sd card,but when I tried to boot it on TDA2x it showed nothing on the console screen.

Could you please tell me what could be the issue.

Hi Vinayak,

For building images for DRA7x with Yocto, refer to the below wiki pages:

processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Linux_Automotive_Software_Developers_Guide
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../GLSDK_FAQs

But note that DRA7x and TDA2x are different devices, so I doubt that DRA7x images (MLO, u-boot, zImage, rootfs) will run on TDA2x

I see that DRA7x and TDA2x share common EVM (link below), so these DRA7x images should run on TDA2x also.

Note that we have TDAx SDK:

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I am building it for dra7xx-evm machine for booting it on TDA2x .

I will try out here few steps with changing dtb file and check if it boots.

Note that we have TDAx SDK:

Ans: TDAx SDK means are u talking about Vision SDK?

I have done it using TI Vision SDK for linux it works successfully also boots it on TDA2x and 3x now I am trying to build linux using yocto.
I could build the images but facing issue in booting , I will try out few steps and will Let u know on this.

Vinayak,

Note also that TDA2x is supported in the below forum. I would suggest you to ask there if DRA7x images can be used with TDA2x board.
