66AK2H14: Decoupling capacitor calculation

Hi,

The hardware design guide document suggests minimum decoupling capacitors required for each rail. But How to find out exact number of capacitors required?

Is there any decaps calculation sheet for calculating this?

Hi Madhu,

You need to perform a power analysis of your design, as the number of capacitors varies from design to design.

We're talking about power integrity analysis and power distribution network (PDN) analysis. I can give you an app note for the PDN analysis for K2H EVM:

And also for the old OMAP4 devices (NOTE: This is just to get some idea what is done):

The details are use case dependent.. so you need to do them for your own design.

We do not have such document for K2H EVM. You can consider the K2G document as a reference and do a similar PDN analysis for K2H design.
