TMS320VC5502: Newest cross reference for the TMS320VC5502

Hi every body,

We are using from some times now, the TMS320VC5502.

This reference is getting old now and we are looking for a new DSP device, close to the C5502 characterictics (not necessarily the package) but cheaper.

The idea is also to keep as much as possible the software we have developped for the C5502.

Do you know any devices that could replace the C5502?

    I would recommend looking at C5517 , if you are running 200/300 MHz, the 5517 is the closest from a performance standpoint. 

    The device family to look at will be C5515/35/45 and C5517.

    Sounds good. If you are able to share some additional details on what is the kind of application/end equipment C5502 is currently being used in your products (and price/performance/power requirements) , we maybe able to provide further guidance or TI design references for other ARM and DSP based processors.

    C55x TI Designs focus recently has been more on voice triggering etc.
