TMS320C6678: the lowest operating frequency of C6678

Part Number: TMS320C6678

Can the C6678 operate at 400Mhz?And what's the lowest operating frequency? Are there any restrictions?

  • Hi Nancy,

The minimum core clock frequency of TMS320C6678 is 800MHz. For more details refer to following threads:

    and TMS320C6678 datasheet at:

  • Nancy,

Please understand that there is no minimum operating frequency for these devices. what Cvetolin has mentioned is the minimum speed grade variant which is different. Let me explain. Speed grade variant indicates the maximum frequency at which the sample can operate at.

while operating frequency can be any value < max speed grade. When the PLL in the device are in bypass state the device cores will run at frequency of the input clock which can be as low as 50 MHz. infact in I2C and SPI boot mode, these devices boot the entire device and application with PLL in bypass, so these boot modes are really slow.
