AM3354: Cannot boot from SD Card

Dear all,

I'm now very helpless with the Startup from SD Card,

I tried to create a boot SD Card by using the "Processor SDK Linux create SD card script" under Debian 9, the process was successfully and all files have been copied.

I plug the RS232 cable, put this card into the board, press the "boot select" key, trun on the power, after 5 seconds release the key, but this board doesn#t react, there is no any console output.

Can any body help me to bring up this board, please! Thanks a lot!!!

Hi,

What is this "boot select" key? What are your SYSBOOT settings? Which MMC port is used for the SD card connector? Do you see any output on the debug console?

Hi,

I was following the "VAR-DVK-AM33 v1.11 Quick Start Guide", chapter 4.3. My board is VAR-AM33CustomBoard V1.21, the "boot select" is sw3 on the board. I couldn't see any Output on the debug console, the MMC port is 0.

Most likely you need to disable the EEPROM check that's present in the Processor SDK. See this thread: e2e.ti.com/.../428373

You should also be aware the Processor SDK provided by TI will not support your Variscite board directly. You should modify pinmux and device tree to match your hardware.
