Alpha Blending on DM6467

Dear Experts,

According to the following document http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?literatureNumber=spraaz3&fileType=pdf the VPFE and VPBE on DM6467 is compatible with that available on DM6446. I would like to confirm if DM6467 supports Alpha Blending?

When I mean compatible, the features of VPFE and VPBE not the actual hardware.

The document you referred to describes compatibility at the software level (codec engine APIs, driver APIs....); however, the hardware back end of DM6467 is quite different than that of DM6446. DM6467 does not have built-in alpha blending capabilities built into the hardware like DM6446

The VDCE on DM6467 supports hardware for 2-bit overlay function. Can the DMAI's Blend functionality support higher bit-depths at the expense of software overhead?
