Hello,

How can i use camera to capture image or video using AM5728 EVM board.

I have tried to use camera by sending some command from console terminal.

You can check the command as below:

root@am57xx-evm:~# /usr/share/qt5/examples/multimediawidgets/camera/camera

You can also check debug print of console terminal as below:

(camera:1381): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_pad_get_current_caps: assertion 'GST_IS_PAD (pad)' failed

(camera:1381): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

Using Wayland-EGL

wlpvr: PVR Services Initialised

CameraBin error: "GStreamer error: negotiation problem."

Unable to query the parameter info: "Inappropriate ioctl for dev[ 2039.957406] omap-iommu 55082000.mmu: 55082000.mmu: version 2.1 ice"

Unable to query the parameter info: "Inappropriate ioctl for device"

CameraBin error: "Internal data flow error."

On the LCD,i can see one push button to capture image.

But it is not visible properly(disable). Means i can not press it.

If any configuration or some other commands to use camera device.Let me inform.

Hello,

What is PSDK version that you are using here?
Could you try to push icons of Matrix GUI:
Camera -> Dual Camera Demo -> Run

In the error that you are seeing it seems like gstreamer cap failing.
Please check this wiki page:

and

Actually i have trying to download GSTREAMER.But website can not open currently.
I will check it whenever i will get gstreamer software.

Hello,

Gstreamer is already included in PSDK. You could try to execute some of the pipelines with gst-launch ... ! ...

Check the multimedia guide for examples.

But if you want to rebuild or modify the gst plugins source code, let me know to provide you the steps.

Okay,
If gstreamer is already available with SDK then i think not necessary to rebuild.
Just tell me steps that how can i use it.
Which commands should i use and from which directory?

Hello,

The dir does not matter.
Please check the multimedia user guide. there are gst examples which you could run, like decode-display, capture, encode etc.

I have checked that document.But i could not fire command properly.
Can you tell me command to check atleast camera application.
Like command to capture image and check it on LCD or gallery.

Hello,

I have forgot to tell to you abou that i had tried to push icons of Matrix GUI:
Camera -> Dual Camera Demo -> Run

Then i can see two push buttons only on the screen(capture & exit) with black background.

Whenever i press EXIT,application quit.But not capturing image.

I am using latest PSDK here is the command on my side for capture -> display that is working.
-case kmssink:
/etc/init.d/weston stop
gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src device=/dev/video1 num-buffers=1000 io-mode=4 ! 'video/x-raw, \
format=(string)YUY2, width=(int)1280, height=(int)720' ! vpe num-input-buffers=8 ! queue ! kmssink

-case waylandsink:
/etc/init.d/weston start
gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src device=/dev/video1 num-buffers=1000 io-mode=4 ! 'video/x-raw, \
format=(string)YUY2, width=(int)1280, height=(int)720' ! vpe num-input-buffers=8 ! queue ! waylandsink

I am using camera module connected to EVM which uses /dev/video1.
The module provides YUY2 as format and resolution 1280x720.

You could change these params depending of your video source.
For example if your video source provides NV12 you must change format=(string)YUY2 to NV12.
Same for resolution, device note etc.

What you are observing when you execute this command:

ls /dev/video*

Hello,

These are different elements for display.
When you execute weston stop command you will see that the graphics is stopped.
In other words, kmssink communicate directly to DSS and waylandsink using SGX and DSS.

I dont know about video source.
Image sensor is already connected.
What other source should i connect.

Please check my previous post.
ls /dev/video* command shows that there is no capture source connected or detected. That is why the capture pipeline fails.

Hello,

Could you execute this:

dmesg | grep ov10

If the command does not shows any prints in the console, please execute:

dmesg | grep mt9t

Please post the result.

Yeah Sure,
