AM5728: McASP master clock frequency

Part Number: AM5728
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1681

Hello,

I would like to connect an AM5728 to a PCM1681 over McASP (I2S mode) in order to output 8 analogue audio channels.

In a previous question I was told to do the following connections:

-McASPx_AHCLKX to the DAC MCLK (master clock)

-McASPx_ACLKX to the DAC BCK (bit clock)

-McASPx_AFSX to the DAC LRCK or WCK (left-right clock, bit clock, frame sync...different names for the same thing)

-McASPx_AXR[0:3] (or whichever serializer pins you choose) to the DACs data input pins.

My question is, since I want the output audio at 8KHz, the necessary PCM1681 MCLK input hasto be one of the following:

1.024,  1.536,  2.048,  3.072, 4.096,  6.144, 9.216

Does AM5728 McASP interface allow to configure the exact AHCLKX output frequency?

If not, I think I must connect a 4096 (for instance) source to both, AM5728 and PCM1681 by means of a multi-clock generator

Regards,

Jorge
