TMS320C6455: DSP booting issue

Hi,

I am using 6455 DSP. I have developed a project using CCS v6 and type CCS.

I have flashed the project in external memory and configured DSP in EMIFA boot mode.

But DSP is not booting up.

May I know how to debug it.

Hi,

I suppose this is a custom board, right? If yes, then first verify the boot mode configuration. See Table 3-1. C6455 Device Configuration Pins (AEA[19:0], ABA[1:0], and PCI_EN) and Section 2.4 Boot Sequence.

Also are you using the Processor SDK RTOS bootloader (?) or just your custom application? You need to load the MLO first, which will boot your device and then the MLO should load your custom application.

Hi,

Yes this is a custom board and the boot mode is configured as EMIFA boot mode,

We are using custom application.May I get some more information regarding MLO?

Hi Rakesh,

Sorry, I've made a mistake, the bootloader (MLO) is supported by Processor SDK RTOS, and you're using a C64x device, which is not supported in the TI RTOS SDK.

I am looping the C64x sw team to elaborate here.

Hi Yordan,
Thanks for replying .Does the type of project has anything to do with the booting .
My project type is of CCS developed in CCSv6. I have an older code of type RTSC developed in CCv5 that was booting .

Could you please help me to debug .

As I told you I made a mistake. I am not familiar with the C64x sw specifics. Let's wait for the sw team to provide their feedback.

Hi Sahin,

I have referred pdf (spra999a) for developing a secondary bootloader because my code size is around 143 Kb.

I have also gone through my map file after hex conversion,the entry point was mapping to _cint() function only.
