TDA2PXEVM: How to detect multiple targets?

Hi,

I want to use the EVE library to detect and display multiple (3) targets. I can get it to correctly display on both the heat map and beam forming plot when I input radar data for 1 target, but when I input radar data for multiple targets, none of them show up on either the heat map or the azimuth plot. I have BEAM_FORMING_TI_MAX_NUM_DETECTIONS set to 2048, its default value, so that shouldn't be a limitation. Is there some other parameter I need to modify for multiple targets to be detected?

Hi Richard,
Are these targets located at same distance and only variation is in their angles ?

The targets are located at different distances and angles.

Richard,
If they are not at same distance and velocity then it should have worked. Can you check the output of peak detection algorithm and confirm if the objects are detected at this stage?

Hi Anshu,

I tried to save the peak detection output using the network_rx link, but got a "Buffer size in command header too big" error. However, I was able to save the beam forming output, which is attached:

beam_form_out.zip

Can you help me determine whether the objects were detected from this output, or find a way to save the peak detection output?

Richard,
Beam forming is to separate different angle objects. So if the objects are at different distance and doppler then they should have been already detected via peak detection algorithm. What input data are you feeding to beam forming algorithm? In our implementation the output of peak detection goes as input to peak detection ( with slight re-arrangement).

Hi Anshu,

I am feeding the output of the peak detection to the beam forming algorithm, as in the example usecase. However, I am having trouble downloading the output of the peak detection algorithm using the network tools. Is there some other way I can access that output?

Hi Anshu,

We have not been able to detect multiple objects using canned input data, but this particular task has been put on hold on our end in lieu of processing live radar data.
