TI replied as follows

We've decided to address this in the datasheet, rather than the errata.

The next datasheet release is planned for mid-November and is scheduled to include this I2C update.

We have not gotten the update. please advise

I apologize for the delay. The datasheet with these changes is currently in signoff. However, with the upcoming holidays, I don't expect it to be actually published until after the new year.
