BEAGLEBK: BeagleBoard Black Drivers Fail to Install on Windows 10

I recently received a BeagleBone Black, and I'm having trouble getting the drivers to install. Upon inserting the BeagleBone Black into my PC's USB port (not external hub) I see "RNDIS" appear with an orange exclamation mark triangle under Other Devices in the Device Manager. Upon opening the device properties its status reads, "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) There are no compatible drivers for this device."

I tried running the driver installer from the device, as well as the latest for the board from the website, but in both cases the installer fails. I have administrator privileges on my PC. I also tried running the installer with elevated/admin privileges, but no joy.

Any help to get the BeagleBone Black drivers installed would be great. My PC is running 64-bit Windows 10. Thanks.

Hi,

If you are running the BBB with the original Linux that comes with it, this is Debian which is not supported by TI. You should contact the community at www.beagleboard org for support. This forum supports only the AM335x Processor SDK released by TI: www.ti.com/.../PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X

Do you know who developed the USB drivers for Windows host connectivity?

Jim,

Windows is a Microsoft product, the USB drivers in Windows come from Microsoft.
I hope you have read the e2e thread you referred e2e.ti.com/.../769308, the issue seems to be that Windows 10 doesn't have the driver installed to support RNDIS protocol.
