Part Number: 66AK2H12
Hello,
We're using the Keystone II 66AK2H12 on a custom board. For several years, we've successfully been using the MT29F8G08ADBDAH4-IT:D NAND device (8Gb, x8) with the 66AK2H12. Now this NAND part is obsolete, and Micron recommended using the MT29F8G08ABBCAH4-IT:C as a replacement. However, the newer part has different internal organization -- 4k vs 2k page size, 8 vs 4 bit ECC, etc. Note: it appears that the 66AK2H12 doesn't support 8 bit ECC. We're currently attempting to use the newer part, but have had to make some uboot, linux kernel changes to get it to work -- disable h/w ECC, and use s/w BCH.
What NAND devices does TI recommend for the 66AK2H12?
There is an automotive grade version of the older part still available, MT29F8G08ADBDAH4-AAT:D, but it has slightly different specs than the IT version -- It's 'Read page' time is 45 us (AAT) vs 25 us (IT). Do you think the slower 'read page' time will affect normal operation of the NAND with the Keystone?
