Hello,
Is it possible to implement IO-Link master and EtherCAT slave(or any industrial network slave) to AMIC120 or AM437x at the same time?
I would like to develop IO-Link master to EtherCAT slave gateway.
Regards,
U-SK

U-SK, need to check if both can fit in memory... let me come back to you soon..

Hi US-K, From PRU-ICSS perspective you can run EtherCAT slave in PRU-ICSS1 and IO link on PRU-ICSS0. Actually, by default EtherCAT PRU FW runs in ICSS1 and IO link PRU FW runs in ICSS0, so we are good.
From CortexA9 cycle budget the answer is not that straight.. It would depend greatly on how you configure your slave (simple IO? drive? application on top? ethercat cycle time? motor control? etc). Same is true for IO link master.
So probably, performance needs to be measured for a particular use case.
Let me attach you PRU-ICSS EtherCAT datasheet (you can also get it from <PRU-ICSS-EtherCAT_Slave_path>\docs) and IO link FW design guide (you can also get it from http://git.ti.com/keystone-rtos/io-link/trees/master/docs)
thank you,
Paula
Hi U-SK, one that comes to my mind is Kunbus. Let me know if you need their contact information.
thank you,
