Hi,

I am connecting the I2C0 line (SCL,SDA) of DM8168 to 3 PCM3168 Audio codec to configure them..Can i connect them directly or should i use a 1:3 I2C BUFFER?

    Hi Shyama,

    Adding 3 PCM3168 Audio codecs to I2C0 line should not be an issue, thus no need of buffer, you can add 3 codec directly. Refer to the DM816x TI EVM (link below), where 8 external devices are attached to I2C0, one audio codec (U2 AIC3106) and 7 other devices (U13, U38, U12, U62, U61, U20, JP1). And no I2C buffer is used for I2C0 lines. We also have 6 external devices attached to I2C1 module directly, no buffer is used for I2C1.
