CCS/TMS320C6678: NDK client demo telnet reboot error

Hi,

Can you clarify the Processor SDK RTOS release you used? After the telnet connection, what is your purpose of "reboot" command? You want to reboot the EVM through network? Please clarify your expectation and what worked or not worked.

I try ti-processor-sdk-rtos-c667x-evm-05.02.00.10-Windows-x86, and ti-processor-sdk-rtos-c667x-evm-06.00.00.07-Windows-x86-Install, but  it is the same.

after the telnet connect, I use "reboot"(it calls NC_NetStop(1)) to reboot the ndk.

After NDK stack is successfully brought up, receives an IP address,

connect via telnet Issue 'reboot' command ,  

it got error ----> mmFree；double free

and , it can not restore the ip interface, it is not pingable....................

I disable all the cache ,but it is still the same,,,,

the ccs console show logs as in the above picture.

I can reproduce your issue, I knew that after reboot command from telnet, at the Ethernet switch level, the C6678 is still be able to receive packet from network, I also knew there is no more packet delivered to IP layer. I asked the NDK team for clarification what the expected behavior is.

Can you please put a break point at the function NIMU_testNetworkClose() [inside the client.c file] and single step over all of the free calls in that?

Do you see the error message happen while single stepping through that code?

I debug single step over as you said,

the error "Double Free" happens  while single stepping to  "NIMUUnregister (ptr_device) " which in line 1232 of nimu.c

could you please tell me how to fix it?

after I set  NIMU_DEVICE_NO_FREE in the function EmacInit(),  how to rebuild the lib file?

the lib file I use now in the  \ti\pdk_c667x_2_0_12\packages\ti\transport\ndk\nimu\lib\c6678\c66\release\ti.transport.ndk.nimu.ae66,

so I need to rebuild the lib file afte I add the NIMU_DEVICE_NO_FREE,

could you tell me how to build it?

All you have to do is rebuild the PDK nimu library, and then build your project.

To do this, in general:

* Open a command window

* CD C:/ti/pdk_am57xx_1_0_13/packages  (or wherever your platform's PDK is located)

* execute pdksetupenv.bat  (just type the name)

* gmake nimu

If you haven't done this already, you can edit Rules.make to limit which SOC will be rebuilt, something like "export LIMIT_SOCS ?= am572x". This will limit how many libraries get recompiled.

    I modify the nimu_eth.c, and rebuilt it.

now ,the "double free" not exist,  but ip interface still can not be restored after run "NC_NetStop(1)"  .

Regarding the double free - Yes, this is a bug in the driver, as Chris pointed out. The driver should have set that flag but it didn't. I will ask Iding to file a bug with the driver team.
