AM5728: Camera module not detected

I bought a new mt9t11x camera module http://www.ti.com/tool/TMDSCM572X

I inserted it on AM5728 EVM with the SDK-06.00.00.07. My previous Camera Board gave me "

Product ID error ffffff87". I got same error with out of box Camera Module. I use am57xx-evm-reva3-cam-mt9t111.dtb file for device tree.

I've got the same problem, basically TI is sending out obsolete hardware. You need to have a non-MT9T111 based camera to work with SDK 6. You can verify this in the release notes of SDK 6. You have to get a Rev. C camera board based on the OVM chipset in order to work with SDK 6.

So you mean it is possible to work with it for example in SDK 3 ?

I've just bought this module from TI and it is Revision A1. It's seal date is May 2016! More than 3 years ago!!!

My older module was bought from Mouser and it's seal date is June 2016. One month younger!

Hi Aidin,

All Processor SDK version enabled MT9T111 sensor. It is the sensor board that has issue and some of them doesn't work. More discussions on that can be followed here.

Thanks for the reply. The Camera Module is brand new. It seems it was dead! There is also an issue LCPD-13443 mentioned here:

Does it affect this problem? It said AM572x-HSEVM which I'm not aware of.

I've applied the workaround mentioned by Bill Taboada and the camera module start working.
