TMS320DM6446: Power-down sequencing

Part Number: TMS320DM6446

Hi,

I got a question from my customer.
In DM6446 and DM6467 datasheet, there are description for power-supply sequencing.

DM6446 datashet:

DM6467T datasheet:

But it is not clear what is power-down sequencing requirements.
Is this simply the reserve order of power-up?

Thanks and regards,
Koichiro Tashiro

  • Hi, Koichiro,

We do not have any collateral or resource beyond what you see in the product folder. You may search the E2E forum for archived posts of previous discussions which may help address your questions. For more info on TMS320DM6446 support, please see the FAQ in

  • Hi Rex,

It is not acceptable by customer TI cannot answer such basic question.
As we have EVM, could you check what power-down sequence is used on EVM?

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hello Tashiro-san

Our support position on DM646x family is clearly posted on the product folder

    https://www.ti.com/product/TMS320DM6467T

    It mentions 3P support only.

We have no longer have the ability to support queries on these devices and no design resources to investigate deeper questions. All information is what you see on the product folder.

Having said that typically for older device if the power down sequence is not explicitly listed , it is usually the reverse power down sequence.

We do not have any EVMs to test this - additionally EVMs are not guaranteed to always follow the datasheet recommended sequence because several times the EVMs get designed before specification is finalized - it is not considered a reference design etc.

I am sorry for not being able to provide further guidance.

Feel free to reach out to me offline to discuss customer specifics and why they are asking such questions on such older devices.

    Regards

    Mukul
