AM3352: AM3352+RTL8211 ( connection LAN cable , not ping )

Part Number: AM3352
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSSK3358

MCU : AM3352

LAN Chip : RTL8211FD

question :

LAN Chip use  RTL8211FD , The MAC can be written in the program, but Ping does not work normally when the network cable is connected

RTL8211FD -- the schematic design follow original design  .

Where's the problem ( soft ware ?/hard ware) ?

thank you.
  • Hello,

What version of software are you using?

    Regards,

    Nick

  • HI NICK

I need asking my software engineer .

put the code to the "TI beaglebone board", the network ping is normal.  but put the code into  " TMDSSK3358_3H0009_REV1_2B_SCH  board "

the LAN Ping does not work .

" beaglebone board "  and  "TMDSSK3358_3H0009_REV1_2B_SCH  board"    , the code is common ( LAN chip is different  )  ?
Do you need to modify the code for different network Chip ?

    thank you .

  • Hi,

We will need more information before we will be able to help. Per Nick's question which SW is being used here? Is it Linux? If so which version is being used?

If you are using Linux this link might help with the debug. Also please attach the requested logs, please do not cut and paste.

    Best Regards,

    Schuyler

  • Hi,

Thank you for the attached files. These two values that you have highlighted are important. It looks like the board is not receiving any packets.

    Rx CRC Errors: 177

    Rx Align/Code Errors: 2526

The hardware statistics indicate that several packets were but there were not any good packets received, only CRC or misaligned packets. I would verify the pin mux first on the receive path and then look at the board for an electrical issue.

    Best Regards,

    Schuyler
