Hello all,
We are starting to develop a NAS/Router system and right now we are searching for suitable SoC. The AM3894 seems to have everything we need (2x SATA and 2x GMAC).
Before we make a decision we would like to know more on the Linux development support from TI. Can we have access to the sources? How far is it from mainline current versions?
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
Our SDK offering for this product is now mature. We do not actively support it or add features. You can learn more about it here:
https://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/ezsdk/5_04_00_11/index_FDS.html
As it is based on the 2.6.37 Linux Kernel version, it is not up to date with Mainline. However, many community members have helped support these devices and they do have good support in the Mainline kernel. You would need to evaluate if the features/performance offered by Mainline is acceptable for your product.
I hope this is helpful to you.
