AM5728: UVC camera

Part Number: AM5728

I have a USB camera based on OV5640 sensor and which is UVC compliant. When I plug this to my USB port on my am5728 EVM booted in linux SDK, will it use the ov5640.ko kernel module ??

If not then why wouldn't it ? After all ov5640.ko is the camera sensor driver.

Also there is nice application note for

"Integrating New Cameras With Video Input Port on DRA7xx SoCs" this should be helpful for AM57xx as well:

ov5640.ko will be used as long as you have added appropriate Device tree node. Please go through the application note.

But my question is whether the a USB camera with ov5640 sensor requires ov5460.ko when plugged in to a linux booted EVM?

Vishal,

I saw you exchanged notes with Keerthy on this subject. were you able to get more information from the older e2e thread and appnote Keerthy pointed to you? If not please update the thread with your currently status and I will look into it. I believe the UVC driver will automatically take care of the sensor, thus should be no need to load the ko. but pls update if your camera is up yet.
