Hello,
Unfortunately, the FBDEV driver is no longer supported and in the new DRM driver, the 1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-bpp modes are palette modes and are not supported by the tilcdc driver. Here is the ref doucment: https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/docs/06_03_00_106/linux/Foundational_Components/Kernel/Kernel_Drivers/Display/LCDC.html#am335x-lcdc-drm-display-driver

Hi Krunal,
What is required to get FBDEV (or similar alternate) working?
We use (at present) EL 1 BPP display for low temperature reasons.
Does the BBB support displays via SPI?
Hello,
The FBDEV is enabled by default in our filesystems but the community does not maintain the driver. I have reached out to Brad to check if the solution was documented.
With regards to SPI, could you please share your configuration requirements? I am wondering if the following document is similar to your use case.
Regards,
Krunal
