AFE7900: Highspeed RF Data Transfer

Part Number: AFE7900

I am looking possible solutions for wireless data transfer of 6+ Gbps. Is the AFE7900 suitable for this application and if so, what is the data rate the chip can support and over what distance? If not, what products will achieve this?

  • The AFE7900 is capable of transmitting and receiving RF bandwidth as wide as 1.2GHz on 4 TX channels and on 4 RX channels (each).   It does this with the industry's highest performance.   It would be up to the end system designer to determine if 6+Gbps of data can be transferred over wireless with the RF capability of the AFE7900.  It would depend on what modulation scheme, LNA and PA you used as well as other factors outside of the control of the AFE7900.
