Tool/software:
Hello,
It is mentioned in a video (on the AFE7900EVM page) that there are upcoming chips coming in the AFE79XX family.
Will you introduce a 2T / 2R chip with 5Mhz to 12Ghz RF signal bandwidth, and bandwidth of 1200hz (like AFE7903 but with range and BW of AFE7906)?
Thanks,
With regards,
Christos Christou.
Hi Christos,
The short answer would be no, there is not a 2T2R device that covers 5MHz to 12GHz with 1200MHz.
But if you only need the Rx to cover 5MHz to 12GHz and the TX to cover 600MHz to 12GHz you could use the AFE7950 with the unused channels disabled.
Best,
Camilo
Hello Camilo,
Yes, I know that I could utilise the better range / bandwidth for RX and leave TX as is, and just use fewer channels.
But I was wondering if there are upcoming (not listed) chips as mentioned, that would either increase the TX range, or have natively less channels (and less price than AFE7950) with the increased range.
Thanks for the response!
Hi Christos,
In the "AFE79xx_Configuration_Parameters.pdf" document in the secure folder under "Guides_and_SW" there is a table with the current devices available.
The closes to what you have described would be the AFE7955 which is a 2T3R.
Best,
Camilo
