AFE7444EVM: AFE7444EVM No USB Connection

Hi,

The AFE7444EVM Evaluation Board we received is defective. It is impossible to make a connection over the USB port. We have another AFE7444EVM from a previous order, which is working fine. We could cross-check it with the working board, so there is definitely something wrong with the new one. The PC doesn't even recognize that something is connected to the USB port, so the FTDI drivers are not the problem.

Are you familiar with FT_PROG? Please download it here: https://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities.htm

Once you have downloaded it can scan the defective AFE EVM and verify that the device id is correct.

Another suggestion is to Probe and measure the voltage at various points around the FT4232H USB chip on the AFE EVM that works, document the voltage and location you probed. Then do the same for the defective AFE EVM and see if there are any major differences between the two boards. Its possible that the failure is due to a short surrounding the USB chip or the chip itself.
