Compiler/DRV5013: DRV5013 power-on time

Part Number: DRV5013

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hi,

   I'm using DRV5013 in a low-power application , in my app, this hall device is powered up periodically. In the datasheet I find that the power-on time,  typ 35us, max 50us , FA version is 70us.

   there are some questions about this parameter.

   1, what FA version is?

   2, for a specified drv5013 , is the power-on time a fixed value which is between 35us and 70us ?  if not, what factors can affect it,and how much it may change?

  3, In drv5013 datasheet, I find  a pulse occurs at the end of ton, is the period of this pulse a fixed value? what is the typical value of this pulse period? I measure the period, about 20us.

   Thanks !

  • Hi Qiuhu,

    Thank you for considering the DRV5013 for your application. Here are my responses to your questions:

    1) The DRV5013FA is the highest sensitivity version of the DRV5013. The transfer function is shown on the first page and the worst-case switching thresholds (Bop_max, Brp_min) are +/-3.4mT as specified in the magnetic characteristics table on page 6

    2) Correct - the power on time will not exceed 70us, although a given unit will exhibit some variation around its nominal tON value due to noise and temperature drift of the internal oscillator. The variability in tON has not been characterized on this product but the specification limits are valid over the rated temperature range.

    3) Once again the output switching characteristics at startup have unfortunately not been characterized. If it helps, the following post has some information based on simulation under nominal operating conditions: https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensor/hall-effect-sensors/f/966/t/671277?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=drv5013

    Best Regards,

    Harsha
