Hello Michael,

The GPIO 0 is recommended to be connected to the host processor IO for debug purposes (Please refer to AWR2243 Datasheet for this).

And GPIO 1/2 are not used in AWR2243.

If the GPIO 0 waas used for debug purpose, why the GPIO 0 of the other AWR2243 devices did not be connected to the host processor,

also, the AWR2243 will not operate at functional I2C mode? so the GPIO[2:0] should not  be used to set the I2C address?

Hello Michael,

As mentioned in the AWR2243 device Datasheet, those pins are reserved and are only used for debug purposes internally.

Also, regarding your GPIO query, let me clarify some things here : 

The GPIO[0] , [1] , [2] are not programmable by the user in AWR2243 since this a front end only device. It can either be used by SPI or I2C Interface. In I2C mode, the function of the GPIO is only to set the address. But in SPI mode the GPIO0 is used for debug purpose to send failure logs incase the SPI interface has issues as I said earlier.

Hi Ishita,

OK, the usage of the GPIO[0:2] of the AWR2243 had been clarified, but I still have one question is why just the GPIO[0:2] of  AWR1 was connected to host CPU between the mmwave-RF-EVM and mmwave-DSP-EVM ?
